Race Night 24/10/12

With 3 of the guys away for the nationals and 2 no shows, that left 4 guys to battle it out for the nights racing. We ran 2 cars over all 3 lanes and we managed to get away with 2 marshals with only a couple of track calls when the cars couldn't be put on quickly.
Peter had a fantastic run with no offs all night and came away the clear winner.
The handicap system worked well with only a hand full of laps covering the the 4 places. The full results are as below.
There will be no racing this week, with the following week to be held at Stu's.

Race Night Results 17/10/12 Stu's Track

I  wasn't there, but Peter was kind enough to email me the results. With 8 drivers and a handicapped system it was anyone's guess  who was going to take away the  nights spoils.
It was great night of racing by all accounts with some close racing with Stu  and Dan  going for it side  by side, lap after lap.
The 1st  heat saw Stu  in  front by a coat of paint with  189.64  Peter was 1 lap  plus a couple of sections behind with 188.24  with  about the same gap  to Dan with 187.12   Next was  Barry with  176.52 which was good enough to hold out a fast charging Stev who ended up with  175.85  Darren  was hanging  onto his tail  with a 173.68  Daniel, who did a 160.72 did well to pull a bit of a gap to Tony who did a 140.08
The 2nd heat,  Stu  showed the way by doing the  best 3x3 of the  night with  a impressive 190.12  Dan  was next with 187.36 which was just good enough to get ahead of Peter who did 186.72   Barry drove well to come in next with 175.52 and Stev started to  blow off the cobwebs off and came in next with  a 174.12
Darren  found it hard going, but recovered well and finished with 166.36  Despite finding another gear and  doing his best 3x3 of the night Tony couldn't get there. Daniel kept his head and came out  in  front with  a 155.44  V's  Tony's 148.44
The 3rd round again it saw Stu out in front, this making it a hat trick by doing a 186. It was then a bit of a gap to the next place which was Peter 180.76 and  so close, but 0.8 of a section short was Barry with a 180.68  Darren filled the next place with a 172.4, followed closely by Stev with 170.28    Dan was on  track to post a good number, but a problem in the final race cost him dearly and brought  his total down to 169.04
Next was Daniel with 159.12 which was a comfortable lead over Tony who had troubles in  the 2nd to last race and could only post 11 laps, this bring his total down  to 118.28
With the  handicap added into the totals the results are as below - handicap in  ( )
Darren 582.44  (70)
Stu       574.76  (9)
Stev     570.24  (50)
Barry   568.72   (36)
Peter   567.72   (12)
Dan     543.53   (0)
Daniel  523.28   (50)
Tony    496.80   (90)

Race Results 10/10/12 Kinloch Track

It was great to finally have all 9 of us turn up to race. It's been awhile, but we got though the nights racing pretty quick. With a light spray of goo on a rubbered up  track it was pretty much go  from  the very start.
In the 1st heat, Peter showed how it was done by doing a  131.15 with Dan close behind with a 130.95  . It was tight between the next 3 with Stu just getting there with a 127.7, Trevor with a 127.4 and Darren with 126.9   . It was also pretty close to  the next 4 with Barry coming out tops by doing a 120.9 chased by Stev's 115.25   . Daniel with a 107.25 just got ahead of Tony who  did a 104.7   .
The 2nd round saw a change of positions with Peter doing the chasing this time round. Dan drove well and did his best 3x3 of the night and finished off on 133.3  . Just over 1 lap back was Peter on 132.1  . Next was Trevor with 129.7, then Darren with 125.1 Barry did his best of the night and ended up with 123.8
Stu was off the pace and got 118.5 which was good enough to put him ahead of Stev on 112.7   . By doing a 106.8, Tony got one over Daniel who ended  up with 105.5
The 3rd and final race, 5 people did their best set of 3x3 of the  night. Peter started things off by doing the best 3x3 of the night and ended up on 135.15   . Stu, who  also did his best, got back onto  the pace and ended with 133.15    . Dan was next with a respectable 132.   Trevor couln't get into the 130's and ended up with 129.35    Darren found things a bit tough and stayed in the mid 120's with a 125.55   . Barry was ready to grab another spot, but with a 122.35 fell a little short.  Stev found another gear and pulled off  his best set of the night and ended with 119.05  . Daniel and Tony also did their best  set. Daniel who did a 116.3 was on fire and pulled a 10 lap gap over Tony who did 107.65   .
With the handicaps worked into the totals it saw that being consent was the way to go and Tony went away with the trophy in hand. It was a well  deserved win and I'm sure it won't  be the last.
417.15  Tony
407.40 Peter
396.25 Dan
394.35 Stu
394.05 Barry
391.55  Darren
386.45 Trev
381.95 Stev
379.05 Daniel
With around 40 laps between 1st and 9th I will adjust the handicaps a little bit  the next time we race here.

This weeks handicaps

I think I have them  right, but time will tell. I went off everyone's best 3x3 laps from  last week and used Dan's best as a bench mark with the exception of mine since I  have home track  advantage. The handicaps are the total  for the nights racing. If you think  any are wrong, just  let  me  know before the racing starts and I will adjust them.
0  Dan
0  Trev
9  Peter
14 Darren
15 Stu
27 Barry
50 Daniel
98 Tony
Also just a reminder  that we will be using the NASCAR bodies for this weeks racing at the Kinloch track.

Race night results 3/10/12

It was the first nights racing at the Kinloch track  after about a 8 week break. I  glued up the track the night before and it seemed very sticky, but by the time  race night came along all the goo was gone from the race line. It wasn't until the last lot  of heat racing when  the tyre rubber on the track offered some type of grip.
The top order was separated by  about 2 laps with Dan leading the way  in the 1st round with a 123.30  followed by Darren's 121.60 .  Next was Peter with 119.35 then Trevor with 117.70  Stu was next with 115.35  There was about a 4 lap gap to Barry with 111.80 followed by Daniel on 107.80  Rounding things off was Tony with a 93.40
Peter put  up  a good fight in  the 2nd round, but couldn't quite get there and fell 3 sections short. Again Dan came out in  front with a 125.25 with Peter close behind with a 125.10  The next 2 places were also close with Trevor just getting there with a 123.45 with V's Darren's 123.05  Next was consent Barry with a 118.95 followed by Daniel with a 110.75  Next was Tony with a 93.05 with Stu having a bad run  to finish off things with 92.85
In  the 3rd and final round the track had some rubber down on it and it showed with 5 drivers posting  their best laps of the night, (the other 3 doing theirs in the 2nd round)
Dan  made it a hat trick with  a 128.00 which was also the best 3x3 of the night. Next was Trevor with a 125.60 The  next 3 were very close with Darren coming out in  front with a 123.10 chased hard by Peter  with a 122.85 and Stu was ready to pounce with a 122.55  Barry came  in next with a 118.90 followed by Daniel 109.05 and  Tony had a great run with a 94.75
Once everything was added up, the finishing order went  like this;
376.55  Dan
367.75 Darren
367.30 Peter
366.75 Trevor
349.65 Barry
330.75 Stu
327.60 Daniel
281.20 Tony

Race Results 26/9/12

Here they are at last. It was at the 16th ave track with  the NASCAR bodies. My memory is a bit vague on  this one, but I  did write down  the final results.
Darren had done a handicap format for the nights racing and he worked out the following  system. Each 3x3 heat the below laps were added to  the final results.
0   Trev
1   Darren
3   Dan
3   Peter
15 Barry
36 Daniel
For the second time in a row Daniel came out  in 1st place with 254. 2nd was Peter  with 251. 3rd was Dan with  246. 4th was Barry with 245. 5th was Trevor with 253. 6th was Darren with 209.

Race Night Last Week and Tomorrow

I haven't  posted last weeks results as my son has been sick in hospital, so  I  will  do  both in  the weekend. I also gave the  track a spray of goo ,  but I think I put too much on. I will see how it looks tomorrow after you guys have do a few laps, but I might have to wipe  some of it off.  Either Piranha or treated Piranha's look like the best bet to use at this stage.

Kinloch Track Update

Well it's all done.....well almost. All I have to  do  is to steal the computer back off my son and goo up the track. Many thanks to Darren for doing the  braiding and to Dan for the lane stickers.

From this.

About 8 weeks and around  $400  latter  to this.

Race Night 19/9/12 16 ave track

It was another great nights racing at the 16th ave track. Darren had sorted out a handicapped system for the meeting and it worked really good. There was only just over 20 laps difference between 1st and last place. I forgot to write down the   heat  results, so I don't have the actual race laps, but the final placings are as below.
Daniel    255
Barry     251
Stu         249
Darren   249
Dan        245
Trev       238
Tony      232
Next weeks racing will again be at the 16th ave track,  but with the NASCAR bodies.

Kinloch track Update 16/9/12

I've been a bit  slack lately and not  a lot has been done. Darren came around and did the braiding last Monday  night, so I thought I better get  the  paint  brush out this weekend.

The track  all paint.I repainted the whole track  to keep the surface the same.

The sides all painted and the new section  braided. While I  had the  blue paint out  I re  freshen some of the sides  where the paint had come off from  the cars crashing into them.

Race Night 12/9/12 Dan's Track

With a new handicapped system worked out and the ute bodies on it was time to test out the new bodies. There were 7 guys lined up for the nights racing and everyone was keen to get the racing underway.
Dan had worked the nights racing on a time penalty system and the cars could not be placed on the track until your time was called.
00 sec  Daniel
20 sec  Barry
24 sec  Trev
24 sec  Stu
25 sec  Pete
27 sec  Darren
30 sec  Dan
The 1st round saw Stu lead the way with 113.6 with Dan only 2 laps behind on 111.5  . Only 0.3 laps behind him was Pete on 111.2  .  Another 2 lap gap was Baz on 109.7 and then a 3 lap gap to Trev on 106.2  .
Daniel was next with 101.3 and Darren found out that you need 4 wheels to race and ended somewhat off the pace with 91.6
In the 2nd round, Pete showed how it was done by posting the best 3x3 of the night by doing a 114.4  .  There was nothing between the next 4 with Stu on 112.5 chased by Baz on 112.0 which in turn was chased by Trev on 111.4 and Daniel was right up his spur gear on 111.2  . Dan was 1 lap behind him with 110.3 with Darren rounding things off with 99.2
For the 3rd and final round, it saw about a 1 lap gap between each driver. Again a new person lead the way. With his problems sorted out, this time it was Darren with 114.1, followed by Stu 113.1, Trev 112.2, Pete 111.5, Dan 109.8, Baz 108.8 and Daniel 105.1
Once the the dust had settled down and the laps added up, the nights winner by 2 laps was !!!!!!!! Stu !!!!!!!
339.2  Stu
337.1  Pete
331.6  Dan
330.5  Baz
329.8  Trev
317.6  Daniel
304.9  Darren
Next weeks racing will be at Darren's and with the ute bodies again there will be a lot of tape holding them together.

Race Night 5/9/12 Stu's Track

It was a great pleasure to have Paul and Wayne from the Hamilton club come over the hill to try out their luck on a Tauranga track. With Stev and Daniel away that made 9 guys lined up on  the starting grid for the nights racing. Stu ran a slick show and we got though everything by 10.
With the NASCAR bodies on, things got off to a steady start with Pete leading the charge with a 175.48. Next was Dan with 173.60, closely followed by Paul with 173.16  . There was a small  gap to  the  next  bunch with Trevor doing a 166.80 chased by Stu with a 162.28  . Barry who did a 158.68 did well  to stay in front of Darren  who did 155.56   . Wayne was next on  149.36 and Tony rounded things up  with a strong 140.88
The 2nd round saw the leader board change,  this time with Dan out front and with a bit of a gap on the rest of the field, with a 177.92.  Next was Trevor with 171.68 which was only just a little bit better than Stu's 171.40.  Paul wasn't that far behind with a solid 168.16.  Barry improved on his 1st round with a 166.88.  Wayne did his best run of the night with 164.36.  The next 2 both had shockers. Peter with a 164.16 and Darren with 157 even. Tony was his steady self and posted a 136.76.
With the 2 heats added up the leader board looked like this.
351.52 Dan
341.32 Paul
339.64 Pete
338.48 Trev
333.68 Stu
325.56 Baz
313.72 Wayne
312.56 Darren
277.64 Tony
In the 3rd and final heat, Dan showed the way by blasting off the best 3x4 of the night with a 181.52.  Stu kept him honest by doing a 178.88, which was also his best. Peter was only 1 lap behind and made it a trio of personal best by doing a 177.88.  There was a 7 lap gap to Trevor with a 170.48.  Barry had him in his sights, but couldn't quite get there and ended up with 169.52.  Next was Wayne on 161.60 with Paul chasing hard with a borrowed car and did well by doing a 157.20.  Tony kept out of trouble and with 137.88 came out in front of Darren who found things really hard going to round things off with a 114.16
Once the armature smoke has settled down and things were added, up the results are as below.
533.04 Dan
517.52 Pete
512.56 Stu
508.96 Trev
498.52 Paul
495.08 Barry
474.88 Wayne
426.72 Darren
415.52 Tony
It was a great night racing and it was great to have the Hamilton guys here.
Next weeks racing will be at Dan's track with the new ute bodies. It should be interesting to say at least.
